many manuals are saved in a file format .rar: a rar file is just like a win zip file in that it is a archive file in which the contents have been compressed and also requires a suitable program to unpack or extract the contents. (just like win zip!) if you find that a download is a .rar format you will need to install win rar from www.rarlabs.com is free and take about 3 mins to install.
